The other day I was going through my cigar ephemera. I save some cigar boxes that I like, some magazines that have a good cover or great articles. I found a few tote bags from some Big Smoke events, and one of the totes even has Rudy Gulliani’s signature on it. But what I found the most of was matches, actually matchbooks. Some are from cigar lounges throughout the country, others are from restaurants, and some are from cigar companies promoting their brand. What’s interesting is that I don’t really see any matchbooks or matchboxes anymore. Sure, you can get them in cigar shops, but nowadays, restaurants don’t even have matchbooks to promote their place. It’s a shame really, I enjoy the different styles of matches out there and hope to see things change.
Today’s cigar review is Tatuaje Cabinet Unicos (6 3/8 x 43). It’s a big and nice looking pyramid, with a dark and oily wrapper. I was very impressed with this cigar. Upon lighting it, I picked up strong flavors of wood, cedar and pepper. This smoke had a great spicy finish. While this cigar is strong, it’s not overpowering like some strong cigars can be. I highly recommend this cigar.
