Following my birthday last week, I’m smoking through my gifts from my very generous friends. A good friend gave me what looked like a coffin the other night and said, Happy Birthday. After thanking him, I looked at it, and noticed that it actually had three cigars in it. La Gloria Cubana came out with a lancero that is sold in multiples of three.
The Rabito De Cochino is a good looking cigar, with a great pig-tail cap and unfinished foot, giving you a burst of flavor of the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper right at the beginning. This is a well-balanced cigar, with substantial woody flavors, followed by hints of chocolate. It’s a cigar that is full of flavor, burns well and is an overall great cigar to smoke. After finishing it, I was glad I had two other ones to smoke. I could see why Cigar Aficionado put this on their top 25 of 2011 cigars. It is listed as number 18 for the year.
