Day 29 – Arturo Fuente Fuente Fuente Opus X Robusto

Continuing with the great cigars I received for my birthday, today I want to talk about the tin of 3 Fuente Fuente Opus X robustos my father gave me. We were out to dinner and he said he wanted me to try the Opus X in the tins. The great thing about buying a 3 pack or a small gift box of cigars is that you get to share. Dad gave me the tin, I got to smoke one, he got to smoke one, and I have one left over that I smoked today for this blog. If it’s one thing I’ve learned about cigars, it’s not always what you are smoking, but who you are smoking them with. There are many memories I have of sharing cigars with my dad, his dad, good friends and so on. I can’t always tell you what cigar I was smoking at the time, but I can sure relate the memories around the cigar.
Today’s review is the Fuente Fuente Opus X Robusto. I’m a big fan of Opus X, but have always said they are better after you age them 3-6 months. Well, when you buy the 3 pack of Opus X robustos in the tin, they are already aged. It is a beautiful cigar, with a dark reddish wrapper. It has a distinct woody flavor upon lighting up. The cigar is a complex, full-bodied smoke, full of pepper, coffee and spice. It had a great finish of chocolate, coffee and cream. All in all, a wonderful smoke. The next time you see the 3 pack tin of Opus X robustos, make sure to pick one up for you and your smoking group. After all, that’s what it’s all about.
