This week it seems I’ve been on a strong cigar kick. Today I was looking through my humidor and thought, I should really smoke something mild, change it up a bit. I saw the Hampton Court tube and decided on it. It made me think back to when I was first smoking cigars. The cigar industry was growing by leaps and bounds, I was able to sell anything and everything that we stocked, and then Tony Soprano said, “Hey, did you get the Macs?” and everyone wanted to smoke a Macanudo. Everyone wanted to smoke what the Boss was smoking. This was before C.A.O. created a Sopranos cigar and then Tony Soprano only smoked C.A.O.’s. Macanudo makes a nice mild cigar, it is usually a cigar people start out with. I always recommend if you haven’t smoked a cigar before. It’s mild, and flavorful.
Today’s cigar is a Macanudo Hampton Court (5 1/2 x 42). There isn’t much to this cigar, it’s smooth, creamy and burns and draws almost perfectly. Many who smoke cigars on a regular basis stay away from a Macanudo because it’s too mild, but I was able to pick up hints of coffee, nuts, cedar and it had a distinct grassy flavor. One thing about a Macanudo, it will always be smooth and burn great. For me, this is a great morning cigar with a cup of coffee and a light breakfast. If you are smoking on an everyday basis, try one of these on your next vacation after breakfast, you’ll be happy about the decision.
