Day 9 – Ashton Classic Monarch

When I was a child, some of my grandfather’s cigars came in a tube. I have no idea what brand he smoked, just that when he did smoke a cigar that came in a tube, I got the tube. I would take the cap and try to knock down the tube by sliding it across the table. Now this was before video games, so we had to actually use our imagination and create our own games. Looking back, it seems a little cheesy, but to this day, whenever I smoke a cigar out of a tube, I fondly remember my grandfather, and sometimes play the game I created.

Today’s smoke comes out of a tube, the Ashton Classic Monarch (6 x 50). If you are looking for a flavorful, well-constructed mild cigar, look no further than an Ashton Classic Series. I chose the Monarch today because inside the tube is cedar-lined, which gives the cigar a nice woody flavor. In addition, I tasted almonds and pepper. The cigar was flavorful from lighting it up until the finish. The cigar burned so well from start to finish, and had a great white ash from start to finish that held together so well. This is a cigar I highly recommend. If you smoke one or have smoked one recently, let me know what you think.
